Asking the Interviewer Questions
Asking the Interviewer Questions We have all been to job interviews and have answered many questions. By the time you get to the end of the interview, you are so relieved it is finished that you may miss one important aspect. During most interviews, the interviewer will ask one final question: âDo you have any questions for us?â Many times, the job candidate will simply say, âNo, I donât think I do.â Unfortunately, this type of response shows that you have little interest in the company. While this may not seem like a big deal, it is huge. This is the last impression you leave with the interviewer. When interviewers ask if you have questions, what should you ask? Obviously, you should not ask about your potential vacation time, salary, or how early you can leave the office on Friday afternoons. Here are some âsafe,â information-gathering questions that will show you care about the employer: What is your favorite part of working here? What is your least favorite part of working here? What is a typical day like for someone in this position? What would be my first goal in this position? Can you describe your ideal candidate for this position? How do you see the company growing in the future? These questions are a way to better understand the interviewer and the company. Take the time to develop 1-2 questions prior to your interview. You will then be prepared and ready-to-go when they ask you if you have any inquiries. The interviewer will acknowledge your efforts and this will leave them with a fantastic impression of you as the perfect candidate.
